I've always been an emotional person Reader It's been made to be a "bad thing" before. By people close to me whether family, significant others, or just people in my life. And honestly myself. There's a lot of conditioning out there about emotions being weak, etc. It's been a process to heal from some of that conditioning. There are still core memories that stand out to me when I was told that it wasn't viewed as a "bad thing" by people who are important to me. But I've also been someone whose tendency has been to be pretty hard on myself. So even though I've done a lot of inner work on myself and that conditioning around the people I surround myself with and finding the people who don't view the emotional part of me as "bad," there are times when I really, I mean really beat myself up over it. Thursday was the peak of that recently. There are a couple of reasons why I share that.... A. I'm so thankful that I've built the flexibility and honoring myself and that space I need into my business - again it's not one size fits all. I was able to take the day off essentially and nothing broke, nothing was "wrong." We need to hear that. You don't need to build a job. You should enjoy your business - in fact that's the only should that's allowed. B. When I was giving myself that space and seeking support - there was a question that was asked (not even to me, but that's the power of group coaching!) It was when those feelings/thoughts are occurring, "What do I need to feel in that moment?" The answer came flooding to me. I needed to feel held. The irony is, that's what I do for my clients. That's what I do for my kids when they're feeling emotional but I needed to remember to do that for myself when those emotions happen. I can't tell you the number of times I have seen or heard that phrase since then - it's mind-blowing. 🤯🤯 (and I'm writing this email in real-time) The icing on the cake though happened this morning when I was listening through a training and I was reminded of my purpose, my mission, and what I'm called to support you with - in case you missed it... To hold you. We go through all the step-by-step strategies but it doesn't mean shit without the mindset and the emotional piece. Even if you're working on your mindset, but you're not honoring and processing those emotions? Then you're not unleashed. You're not owning your unstoppability. You can feel them, and honor them without making irrational decisions, shutting down, or avoiding the things that you KNOW that you need to do.
